About the Storyteller
Nabila Larasati Pranoto (b. 1996) is an Indonesian artist based in Zürich, Switzerland. Through painting and spatial storytelling, she creates worlds where memories and imagination become one and the same.
Her work draws from a life lived across cultures, languages, and landscapes, weaving together fragments of memory, migration, ecology, and everyday absurdity into expansive visual universes. Organic forms dissolve into emotional geographies; bodies become landscapes; dreams take on physical shape.
Trained in architecture and urban design, Nabila approaches painting as both worldbuilding and wayfinding—rather than escaping reality, her work stretches it, creating spaces where viewers are invited to wander, get lost, and imagine otherwise.
Working across painting, drawing, ceramics, and experimental media, she sees art as an act of translation: between places, disciplines, identities, and inner worlds.
She holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Urban and Territorial Design from ETH Zürich and EPFL, and a Master of Architecture from Singapore University of Technology and Design. Her work has been exhibited in Singapore, Shenzhen, Paris, Lausanne, Zürich, and Indonesia, and featured by Dezeen, Kompas, and The Jakarta Post.
